Edward Kyomoon at Court of Lost Souls - Friday 11 February 2011

I must have been to listen to Edward Kyomoon at least a dozen times in six months, and Dottie probably went to listen to him another dozen times before we met. We never get tired of his music !!  There's always something new and fresh among those familiar favourites which in any case we can never get enough of !!

Edward is one of the GREATS in SL live music !!  He is truly awesome !! From Seattle in Washington State he plays deep, tuneful rock with great style.  He sings as many originals as covers and he makes those his own by giving them his unique sound. His orchestration is brilliant !!  His four guitars include two Stratocasters and two acoustics and he has masses of electronic equipment to create his own backing tracks.

.
Edward's concerts are among the most popular in SL, usually with an audience of well over 40 people testing computer capacity and the venues to their limits.  Crashes and ruthing (when your avatar comes online dwarfed like some sort of missing link back to day one of SL creation) as well as griefing attacks have all added to the excitement and frustrations of his concerts :)) Aim to get there 15 minutes before they start in order to get in !!

He began quietly with Pink Floyd's Hey You
... .... ..... ......
Hey you ! out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me ?
Hey you ! with your ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
Would you touch me ?
Hey you would you help me to carry the stone ?
Open your heart, I'm coming home
...... ..... .... ...

Then his original I Want To Know acted like a catalyst on the audience and local chat stepped up two gears !!  Those familiar words poured out from every side :))

      `*•,.¸  ??? WaNNa PiCk U Up ??? ¸.,•*`
      `*•,.¸  ??? WaNNa TaKe U OuT ??? ¸.,•*`
      `*•,.¸  ??? WaNNa TaKe U  HomE ??? ¸.,•*`
      `*•,.¸  ??? WaNNa Be Ur SiN ??? ¸.,•*`
      `*•,.¸  ??? WaNNa KnOw Ur NaMe ??? ¸.,•*`

      `*•,.¸  ??? WaNNa TaStE Ur SkIn ??? ¸.,•*`

No Edward concert would be complete without this song !!

Another original followed - Save The One  and the regular fans among the audience responded :))

*•¸ SaVe ThE OnE U LoVe ToNiTe  ¸•*
Oooooh it's so hard to find my way alone
Oooooh it's so hard to find my way back home

TaKe Ur TiMe AnD Do iT RiGhT......   ¸•*
*•¸ SaVe ThE OnE U LoVe ToNiTe ¸•

But there were only 25 people at this concert !!  Interesting to speculate what influences audience numbers at SL live music events. Perhaps because it was early in the evening in the USA ... perhaps because it was held in an adult-rated sim ...

A song by Blue October followed and then came Edward's current favourite new cover, Dire Straits Walk of Life

Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-Bop-A-Lula, Baby What I Say
Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play ...... ..... .... ...

As always Edward asked for requests and Dottie requested a Kings of Leon song - Use Somebody  Thanks Edward !!

... .... ..... ......
Someone like you, And all you know, And how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street

You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you ...... ..... .... ...

Next an original She Sets Me Free followed by Bob Dylan's She Belongs to Me

She's got everything she needs
She's an artist, she don't look back
She's got everything she needs
She's an artist, she don't look back
She can take the dark out of nighttime
And paint the daytime black ...... ..... .... ...

He jokes that he's having a good time in spite of the technology :))  We do equally Edward !!  Singing his own words to Dire Straits Money For Nothing he catches the mood :))

... lindens for nothing ...
... that little furry he's a millionaire ....

Fun :)))  He jokes that it's "a song about what I do !"

His concert ended more quietly with Yellow by Coldplay.
Then he went away to play another concert at another venue.

Edward's originals include -

Dream of You
See this great new video of Ed performing this on YouTube

Everytime You Go Away
I Miss You So Much I'm Going Crazy
Nothing to Fear
The Way I Feel
My Angel
I Want to Know
Save the One
Love the Sun
She Sets Me Free

He also covers more than 100 songs from many of the great names and rock legends including 30 of Pink Floyd's !!

Edward sings with feeling.  His music and his stage presence are powerful !! He's been idolized and is worshipped by many of his fans !!  They love him and he loves them !!
