Live music is one of the many wonderful things to be enjoyed in Second Life. First-class performers and hard-working managers and hosts deserve our support not only to show our appreciation but also so that our enjoyment can continue.

Where else can we enjoy such excellent live music at such a small cost ? Show your Linden Love !!!

Covenant Wylder at Dirty Martini - Wednesday 23 February 2011

Covenant Wylder, known in real life as Rusty Horn comes to us live from Nashville, affectionately known as Music City USA. Covenant is a founding member of a Rockgrass band called Hayseed-Dixie. He has been onstage with legends such as Keith Urban, Patty Griffin, Kim Richey, Steve Earle, Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Brooks and Dunn, and many others !

Dottie and I were very fortunate to be able to go and hear this powerful, passionate and soulful singer again, at Dirty Martini on Wednesday night :))

TheFollow at Two Moon Paradise - Saturday 19 February 2011

TheFollow are an exceptionally talented Indie Rock band from Columbia, Missouri.  On Saturday night Two Moon Paradise was packed out with fans new and old to enjoy their incredible music.

The audience were treated to some great tunes and tuneful melodies. This band is fresh, young and exhilerating and they play with style !!

Ganjo Mokeev at Sunset Jazz Club - Tuesday 16 February 2011

Tuesday night is a great night at Sunset Jazz Club !!  Three excellent artists often entertain there one after the other - Saint Skytower, Vincent Merricks and Ganjo Mokeev.  It was during one such Tuesday evening that Dottie and I met there 32 weeks ago :))

In fact we nicknamed the three " the dream team " and last Tuesday night Ganjo, from Colorado USA, was definitely in top entertaining form !!

Edward Kyomoon at Court of Lost Souls - Friday 11 February 2011

I must have been to listen to Edward Kyomoon at least a dozen times in six months, and Dottie probably went to listen to him another dozen times before we met. We never get tired of his music !!  There's always something new and fresh among those familiar favourites which in any case we can never get enough of !!

Edward is one of the GREATS in SL live music !!  He is truly awesome !! From Seattle in Washington State he plays deep, tuneful rock with great style.  He sings as many originals as covers and he makes those his own by giving them his unique sound. His orchestration is brilliant !!  His four guitars include two Stratocasters and two acoustics and he has masses of electronic equipment to create his own backing tracks.

Skye Galaxy at Sweet Whispers - Saturday 5 February 2011

When I logged onto SL later on Saturday afternoon I arrived back at Fleure's Enchanted Corner.  By chance I found myself listening to the last 10 minutes of an exceptionally talented artist.  Dottie arrived soon afterwards and we knew we had to listen to this artist again and again !!  I don't normally write more than one blog in a single day but Saturday was an exceptional day !! And so I began....

I'm talking about Skye Galaxy, real life name Sean Ryan - musician, vocalist and producer. On Saturday evening we heard his full performance at Sweet Whispers where he received the adulation of an audience of 57 people.

Skye writes on his own profile  "I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process"

MoShang Zhao at Fleure's Enchanted Corner - Saturday 5 February 2011

Getting up late on a cold and windy Saturday morning I made some coffee, sat bleary-eyed in front of my PC and logged into SL. Always when I arrive I check through the recent notices from Live Music Enthusiasts to get an idea of who is playing, when and where. Today an unexpected name appeared from an even more unexpected location. MoShang Zhao from Taiwan !!  The notice said he would play a unique blend of downtempo electronica he likes to call Chinese Chill. Well it's just three days after Chinese New Year and in the spirit of the year of the rabbit I rubbed my eyes and pricked up my ears.

Trowzer Boa at Sunset Jazz Club - Monday 31 January 2011

Saxophonist Trowzer Boa and his Robot Band streamed some smooth and sexy jazz last night to one of our favourite clubs from his home in Philadelphia.

His music is very danceable so Dottie and I took full advantage of the couple dance balls at Sunset Jazz Club :))

He began with a swing bossa nova, a lovely light tune The Mambo Inn which really hops along based on the samba rhythm.
